WHAT STEPS ARE YOU TAKING TO ENSURE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF RESIDENTS AND EMPLOYEES AT THE GREENFIELDS?

The Niagara Lutheran Health System has taken many steps to keep our residents and staff safe during this pandemic. We are following guidance from the CDC, DOH, CMS, and the actions we are taking meet or exceeded recommendations from these agencies.

Some of these include:

  1. Screening all staff for symptoms, including Covid-19 testing twice weekly, taking their temperature daily, and checking them for any symptoms.
  2. All staff and allowed contractors must wear a surgical mask.
  3. Visitation has been stopped or modified to prevent community spread into our facility. Our activities departments have been set up with tablets and phones, and we encourage you to stay in contact with your family if you can.
  4. Social distancing for any necessary interactions, including meals and activities.
  5. Policy and procedures surrounding infection control have been updated according to recommendations, and all staff has been in-serviced on new guidance
  6. Use of all necessary personal protective equipment

VACCINE UPDATE FOR MANOR RESIDENTS:

February 16, 2021

To all Manor residents:

As I am sure you have heard on the news, it has been challenging for seniors to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in New York State. Unfortunately, the pharmacies and other vaccination centers are not receiving enough vaccines for the demand. Some places (such as Wegman’s on Losson) still have not received any at this time.

We have tried to find a partner pharmacy to come and hold a clinic on-site. So far, we have not been successful as pharmacies do not have enough doses of the vaccine. We will continue to work through the County, State, and task force committee on a mobile option.

We are also trying to get several appointments at a time for us to take residents. Wegman’s is willing to do that when they receive the vaccine, however they are not sure when that will be. We are continuing our efforts with other pharmacies and will update you as information is available.

As we previously stated, if you have an opportunity to get the vaccine elsewhere, through your doctor’s office for example, take that opportunity. In the meantime, we will keep trying to find a partner who can work with us. For planning purposes, please let us know if you have received your vaccine in the community.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Chantal White, Administrator
